Coordination of a Forage Fish Science Advisory Panel
NRC supports and facilitates a multi-partner Forage Fish and Food Webs workgroup for the Puget Sound Ecosystem Monitoring Program (PSEMP). The objective of the workgroup is to identify monitoring, research, and recovery actions for forage fish in the Salish Sea; and provide recommendations that inform management decisions for state and federal agencies. The workgroup consists of representatives from government agencies, non-profit organizations, and Washington State Tribes. NRC is responsible for facilitating meetings and communication with technical experts from Washington and British Columbia, comprehensive management planning, developing collaborative research with workgroup members, and chairing sessions at regional conferences.
